AWE

AWE operates across two main Berkshire sites - Aldermaston and Burghfield. AWE employees carry out research, design, manufacturing, and warhead assembly and maintenance on behalf of the Ministry of Defence.

AWE Aldermaston is now a centre of excellence housing advanced research, design, and manufacturing facilities.

AWE Burghfield assembles, maintains, and decommissions nuclear warheads.

Our Authorised Firearm Officers Counter Terrorism (AFO CT) provide armed protection across both AWE sites alongside trained guards, with enhanced physical security controls across sensitive areas.
