Welford

Welford in Berkshire is operated by the United States Visiting Forces (USVF) and has a long history dating back to World War II, when it served as a transport airfield. Today, it is one of the largest ammunition depots in Western Europe, supporting a range of NATO operations.

Our Authorised Firearms Officers Counter Terrorism (AFO CT) protect Defence materials at the site, providing armed policing as part of the Ministry of Defence Police's wider role in protecting critical Defence communities, capabilities, and assets.
