NEOF - PC Police Driving Instructor
Take Your Policing Career in a New Direction
Join the Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) as a Driving Instructor and step into a training role where your expertise shapes national security. As a Police Driving Instructor with the MDP Driver Training Unit, you'll transform officers into skilled drivers capable of protecting Britain's most sensitive defence assets.
Every lesson you deliver prepares our officers for real-world scenarios – from high-speed responses at nuclear facilities to tactical manoeuvres around classified military sites. In this role, you will:
Deliver comprehensive police driver training programmes aligned with College of Policing standards, applying Roadcraft principles and advanced instructional techniques
Assess and develop officers' driving competencies, monitoring progress and ensuring safety standards that reflect the critical nature of MDP operations
Conduct specialised training on emergency response driving, pursuit tactics, and defensive driving techniques essential for counter-terrorism operations
Evaluate student performance against rigorous criteria, authorising driver certifications and maintaining detailed training records
Provide expert guidance on operational driving matters, supporting Professional Standards investigations and collision analysis
Continuously develop your own instructional expertise through professional development programmes, ensuring training excellence
Maintain the highest health and safety standards, implementing best practices that protect both instructors and trainees
