Detective Inspector – Counter Terrorism (CT) Intelligence Manager
Job description
An opportunity to make a significant difference to national security has emerged within our Counter Terrorism (CT) Intelligence Team as a Detective Inspector Intelligence Manager.
You'll supervise the Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU), Field Intelligence Team (FIT) and Thematic CT Intelligence Officers while building strategic relationships across MOD, wider government and industry partners. The MDP CT Intelligence team works closely with Defence Nuclear Enterprise security and intelligence partners, including Defence Intelligence and the wider CT Network within policing.
You will oversee the management of threat, risk and harm to the MDP and MOD through proper intelligence collection, assessment and development. This includes creating intelligence requirements, collection plans and strategic/tactical intelligence products, while ensuring compliance with national best practice.
You'll lead intelligence investigations, develop CT intelligence team capabilities, and manage intelligence support to special projects. Working on sensitive high-profile enquiries with limited supervision requires exceptional integrity, professionalism and communication skills.
Prior Counter Terrorism policing experience is essential and experience within MOD security intelligence and investigations preferred.
Terms
The post holder is appointed to Crime Command with a three-year minimum term and 5-year maximum tenure. Minimum tour length is three years before level transfer (waivers possible via D/Superintendent Crime Command). This restriction doesn't apply to promotion opportunities. Performance and development review occurs at the 3-year mark.

Qualifications
The post holder must be qualified (or be willing to become qualified) in the following capabilities:
Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) Intelligence Manager
National ANPS Service (NAS) Basic User.
Police National Database (PND) User
PNC (LEDS) User
JRFT (5.4), PPST and First Aid
Additional education and experience
Further to the core Intelligence Supervisor, the additional is required for the below intelligence posts:
CT Intelligence DI (Role Specific):
NCIA Core
NCIA Assessor
NSIM Assessor
Professionalising Investigations Programme (PIP) Level 1 & Level 2 and/or IPP qualifications essential.

Interview

This role will be assessed at CVF Level 2 for both application and interview stages.

Eligibility
All applicants must be fully competent in their current role/rank.
External applicants must have served in the rank of Detective Inspector or higher for a minimum of 12 months.
Serving police officers and police officers who have recently left policing (within 36 months) are invited to apply
Applicants should be able to evidence a credible and relevant policing record detailing their investigative experience.
Applicants must be a sole British National and British Passport holder and willing to undergo security vetting clearance to Developed Vetting (DV) level with enhanced security checks. Applicants will also be subject to police vetting at Management Vetting (MV) level.
Applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment medical and the multistage fitness test to level 5.4 (15m test) in line with the National Role Profile fitness level applicable to the role/rank prior to employment.
Applicants must hold a UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 live penalty points.
