10/01/2020: NOW OPEN - New Recruit vacancies at: AWE Aldermaston, AWE Burghfield and the Special Escort Group in Berkshire; Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria; Bacton in Norfolk; and Vulcan in Caithness.

Your initial posting will be as an Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO), with opportunities to train for specialist positions once in the Force and where vacancies exist.

Successful applicants will be offered vacancies at the above specified sites only. No alternative postings will be offered, irrespective of campaigns for other locations that may open in the future.

To be eligible to apply for posts at the AWE sites, you must have resided continuously in the UK for a minimum ten-year period immediately prior to your application to join as a new Police Constable with the MDP. Any absence from the UK must be no more than six months in total during this time. In addition, it is a requirement of the establishment that you must be a British Citizen and hold a British passport.

Those who have been unsuccessful in their application to join another Police Force can apply to join the MDP when a campaign is live, irrespective of when they were unsuccessful. You may also apply to the MDP even if you have an active application with another Force, but please ensure that you let the Resourcing Team know if you decide that you no longer wish to continue with the MDP process.

To apply, print the MDP New Entrant Application Form and complete this by hand in black ink.

Check that you have completed all sections and enclosed everything required; if your application is incomplete it will not be processed.
